A view of the majestic equestrian statue of Emperor Marcus Aurelius, located in the center of Piazza del Campidoglio (the Roman Capitol Square) on the Capitoline Hill, designed by Michelangelo in 1534 in the heart of ancient Rome. The original statue of Marcus Aurelius is kept inside the Capitoline Museums, a few meters away. On the sides, placed at the top of the steps of the Capitoline Hill, the Roman monumental statues of Castor and Pollux, coming from the Circus Flaminio.
